The Invite
THE INVITE
Sometimes the best visual effects are the ones you never see.
Directed by Olivia Wilde and starring Seth Rogen, Edward Norton, Penélope Cruz and Wilde herself, The Invite was exactly the kind of film where the visual effects needed to do their job — and then disappear.
At a time when very few feature films were shooting in Los Angeles, being part of a production working locally felt particularly special. But while the production was happening stateside, our VFX operation stretched across the Atlantic.
Temprimental completed the visual effects through our London hub, working with a carefully selected group of artists and vendors throughout the UK.
And on The Invite, restraint was everything.
This wasn't a film where visual effects were supposed to announce themselves. The performances, dialogue and relationships are the movie. Our job was to support that world invisibly — enhancing, removing, extending and refining wherever necessary, without ever giving the audience a reason to think about the work behind the frame.
Los Angeles to London. Visible collaboration. Invisible effects.
